These last weeks have been a chaotic mix of events and emotions that have affected us all. Amudim has worked tirelessly to juggle everything involved in dealing with the growing mental health crisis related to the current pandemic. Our support line is manned by over 100 mental health professionals, volunteering their time to field well over 1,400 calls that have come in relating to anxiety, financial worries, and addiction among other challenges. Amudim’s web page and videos dedicated to resources dealing with the pandemic, including animated videos, coping techniques suggested by experts in the field, and other valuable guidance-these have been viewed over 50,000 times across the globe. Our commitment to finding appropriate placement, food and necessities for victims of abuse who found themselves quarantined with their abuser over the Pesach holiday and beyond.

The list goes on. And as our call volume increased exponentially, our case managers worked around the clock, and financial resources rapidly diminished, we knew that we had to reach out to ask you to partner with Amudim in this Herculean task.

This past Tuesday provided us with an essential opportunity to raise funds dedicated solely to COVID relief. We are grateful to announce that it was a resounding success. Because of your generous support and that of our seven anonymous matchers, we raised over $200,000. As a result, 123 individuals are now able to begin therapy. We were able to strengthen our goal of raising global awareness of the mental health crisis resulting from the current pandemic.

We cannot begin to express our appreciation for the donations that came in that allow us to move forward and live to fight another week.

We continue our efforts to raise money for the dedicated COVID relief fund as well as our normal operating needs. The numbers of people in need of support will continue to grow in the weeks ahead; Amudim is prepared to do all that is necessary to meet each challenge that arises and find support for those who need it.

Please remember, if you or someone you know needs help, Amudim is only a phone call away. Our anonymous support line is open 7 days a week from 8 AM – 11 PM, and can be reached by calling (718) 972-3000.
