September 2, 2021

Dear Amudim Family,
This past year has been the busiest one Amudim has ever seen-ranging from seeing our daily caseload double to helping thousands more with emergency travel needs as well as students.
We appreciate all the support we have received, but we can’t do it alone.
As you prepare to make your pre- Rosh Hashana donations, I urge you to keep Amudim in mind so we can continue to help those in need.

If you or someone you know is struggling, contact us anytime.
Thank You and have a Happy and Healthy New Year.

13,294 New Amudim Cases Opened This Year

Each week, Amudim fields calls covering a wide range of crises and addressing various human concerns, including addiction, depression, abuse, health and domestic emergencies and many others. We track the calls and breakdown of issues for many reasons, foremost of which is to consistently improve and strengthen our knowledge and ability to address community’s needs.

As the rules for traveling to and from Israel are constantly changing, click here for the most current information. We will continue to keep you posted.

Overdoses have been increasing since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic in the United States. In 2020, 245 people died every day from a drug overdose. Opioids were associated with 191 of the average daily deaths. This represents a 29.4% increase from 2019 and is thought to be from:
• the prevalence of fentanyl in non-prescribed substances
• psychological stress from the pandemic
• reduced healthcare services during the pandemic
What can you do?
Identifying, diagnosing, and treating substance use disorders can significantly the reduce risks for overdose.
