Levi*, 23, has spent years working with a therapist he deeply trusts. The bond they’ve built is strong, grounded in collaborative work and steady progress. But recently, something shifted. Despite years of therapy, Levi began feeling an overwhelming sense of loneliness—not because he lacked support, but because trauma can be isolating, even when you're not alone.

Memories and emotions he hadn’t yet faced began surfacing. He began revisiting his childhood, thinking of the verbal and emotional abuse he had endured by his father and how no one stood up for him. Levi started to question whether his therapist was still the right fit, or if maybe something was missing. A friend had mentioned Amudim several months earlier, and Levi finally decided to reach out when the sense of isolation became too great to bear. He was hoping to explore what wasn’t working with his current treatment and what else might help him heal.

Our case manager conducted Levi’s intake with understanding and compassion, patiently helping him unravel the complexities of his past and present challenges. After some discussion, it became clear that the issue wasn’t Levi’s therapist. It was the profound human need to connect with others who had walked a similar path.

We connected Levi to a trauma support group where he could sit among peers in a safe and understanding space and be able to share what he needed. Slowly, something began to shift. The sense of isolation that had crept in started to fade. Week by week, story by story, Levi began to feel less alone.

Today, Levi continues to attend his support group. He still sees the therapist he trusts. But now, he has a community. And in that community, he has found not only connection but hope.

If you or someone you know is struggling, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Amudim is just a phone call away and here to help.
