Narcan

When a child is in crisis, we as a community need to be there for them and their families to show support in any way we can. Zvi Gluck and the staff of Amudim are taking the lead in making sure that children and families who have already suffered so much feel that their cries are being heard.- Rabbi Yisroel Grossberg, Principal of Bnot Chaya Academy

what is narcan ?

Narloxone ( also known as Narcan) is an Opioid Overdose Reversal Drug. It temporarily reverses the effects of an opioid overdose and gives the victim time to get to a hospital and save their life.

Anyone can be a victim of an opioid overdose, whether they take a prescription painkiller prescribed by a doctor or an illegal opioid like heroin. It will only work on an opioid, like painkillers, or heroin but will not affect any other type of drug like cocaine or Benzos.

Narloxone has no known side affects and can be administered by any one who has taken the simple training course created by the NYS of Health. In 2015, over 20,000 americans died due to opioid overdose. That number is increasing each year.
