Your Story Matters
January 14, 2022

Dear Amudim Family,

So often a news story breaks, and within a day or two it blows over and something else takes its place as the hot topic of conversation. But this latest business is definitely not just going to blow over. Out of the darkness of this horrible situation, people are reaching out for help. Our call volume has doubled and the messages and emails we have been getting are heartbreaking.

The recent events have been devastating on multiple levels and I can’t even begin to tell you how triggering they were for so many people. Some are finding themselves struggling with traumas that happened years ago. Others have told us that they are completely unable to function. And we have had many individuals saying that only now are they realizing that they need help coping with something that took place in their past.

It is never easy to see just how many people who have needed help, have been suffering in silence for too long. However, it gives me hope to see that people are finally feeling comfortable reaching out for help and taking positive steps towards healing.

To all those struggling to reach out, please know:

We are here for you.

Our hearts are never closed.

And our case managers are always here to help.

Don’t ever think that you need to go it alone, when help is just a phone call away at 646-517-0222.

Each week, Amudim fields calls covering a wide range of crises and addressing various human concerns, including addiction, depression, abuse, health and domestic emergencies and many others. We track the calls and breakdown of issues for many reasons, foremost of which is to consistently improve and strengthen our knowledge and ability to address community’s needs.
