SONG RELEASE Leave a Light On | Chaim Ghoori
For years, anxiety and OCD quietly narrowed Moshe's* world. At just 26 years old, he felt as though his life had become increasingly small and dark. Obsessive thoughts, overwhelming anxiety and constant triggers made even ordinary tasks feel exhausting. Moshe spent so much energy trying to quiet his mind that there was little left for work, relationships or simply enjoying life.
Like many people struggling with OCD and anxiety, Moshe worked hard to hide what he was experiencing. To those around him, he appeared to be functioning. Internally, however, each day felt like a battle.
Eventually, Moshe reached a point where he could no longer ignore how much his symptoms were controlling his life. He realized that if nothing changed, he would continue feeling stuck while watching opportunities and goals slip further away. More than anything, he wanted to move forward and begin building the future he envisioned for himself.
After hearing about Amudim from a friend, Moshe decided to reach out.
In his first conversation with our case manager, Moshe found understanding rather than judgment. Together, they explored the challenges he had been carrying and discussed resources that could provide meaningful, long-term support. The case manager helped connect Moshe with a therapist experienced in this area to address the underlying root causes of his symptoms. He also recommended joining a weekly support group where he could meet others with similar struggles. While there were no options local to where Moshe lives, his case manager found a virtual group which fit his demographic and emotional needs.
For Moshe, discovering that he did not have to face his challenges alone became one of the most meaningful parts of the process. Although his journey is still ongoing, Moshe has already experienced significant progress. He is gaining practical tools, growing in confidence and beginning to respond to his triggers in healthier ways. Most importantly, he no longer feels defined by his diagnosis or trapped by the fears that once seemed impossible to overcome.
If you or someone you know is struggling, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Amudim is just a phone call away and here to help.

Each week, Amudim fields calls covering a wide range of crises and addressing various human concerns, including addiction, depression, abuse, health and domestic emergencies and many others. We track the calls and breakdown of issues for many reasons, foremost of which is to consistently improve and strengthen our knowledge and ability to address community’s needs.
Peer Pressure can be faced with confidence when our kids are equipped with assertive language that feels natural to them.
The Pressure Rises is a free printable activity that encourages kids to think through real-life situations, carefully choose a response and notice what happens when the pressure keeps building.
We hope this opens up some amazing conversations in your home!
